Having heard of an abandoned holy site in the mountains, they set off with their tea wagon to find that site and see whether it has anything to offer them. Still, the monk finds themself helping others but not finding what they need for themself. This is much closer to their desire and Sibling Dex is soon famous for serving the best tea, along with providing much needed emotional support and healing. Not fulfilled in their current monastery, they decide to become a “tea monk,” traveling the world to offer a listening ear, a kind heart, perhaps some gentle advice, and always a soothing cup of tea to people in far flung villages. Sibling Dex (they/them) is a monk who is still trying to find their vocation. Her Wayfarers series drew me in and kept me engaged from beginning to end. I absolutely adore Becky Chambers’ books.
